Today’s Flu Bug and Tuesday, September 11, 2001
The world-wide concern, that is now in our own country continues to be a source of stress to many.
From a ‘business standpoint’; it reminds me of the 18 to 24 months that followed Tuesday, September 11, 2001. At Accurate Automotive; for nearly 2 years after 9/11, a majority of our customers did not consider another car purchase to replace their current vehicle. Instead, they opted to fixing, repairing and servicing their existing Honda and Acura vehicles. Similar to 9/11; uncertainty in household income will likely ‘curb’ consumer spending to some degree.
For the average consumer; if option #1 is to invest $1500 – $2000 in fixing the ‘ paid-for car ‘ vs. option #2 which could easily involve a major purchase ($25,000 or more) to replace the current car; few will opt for making car payments for the next 36 – 84 months.
To all of our customers; we are here to help. Whether it be maintenance, mechanical repair, minor auto body paint repair or towing; Accurate Automotive has a vast business infrastructure for the vehicles produced under the Honda, Acura, Lexus and Toyota badges.
For anyone thinking high mileage cars are not dependable; consider that cars are machines and some of the least dependable machines are the newer ones, which have not been ‘broken-in’ and that are not ‘time-tested’. New cars are less trustworthy than high mileage, older units. If you think this isn’t true; then why do all new cars have a manufacturer’s warranty attached to them? Because cars are built in high volume with many parts; the chance that a poorly produced part is assembled on several thousand new cars (before being detected) is very likely.
The older the car and the higher the mileage; is how a vehicle truly becomes ‘trustworthy’.
